Ordered whole grilled catfish with fried okra and onion rings to go. The grilled fish was really good. Although I requested that the okra and onion rings be fried crispy, they weren't. I don't really care for soft okra or onion rings, so I placed them in my air fryer. That solved the problem.

Solid catfish and crab legs in Dallas! Yay! Close to the Arboretum in Casa Linda Plaza. Girlfriend invited me to lunch and this was her choice. She is a seafood lover as well. Hot fresh catfish, onion rings and cole slaw with a 1/2lb of snow crab legs. Recommend!!

My radar is always up for good fried catfish at a decent price, and on Tuesdays for lunch (the daily special), this place delivers handsomely. For $9, you get two hefty nicely fried catfish fillets (about the same size or larger than Big Shucks), two hush puppies and your choice of fries, onion rings, or slaw. The quality of the food and the cook is very good, especially for the price. If you come here on a Tuesday between 11 and 11:30, there's a decent chance you will see me sitting at the bar (the best place to get service when you need anything) happily eating catfish and watching ESPN.

I went here for lunch solo because I was in the mood for seafood and the wife will not go to any restaurant that has lower than a 4 star rating on Yelp....I am less discriminating. You walk in an order at the counter/bar and they give you a number and bring your food to you. The restaurant wants to recreate the New Orleans feel but honestly there is not much ambience to rave about and it did not feel like NO to me. I went with the shrimp po boy, it came out in about 10 minutes. It comes with tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato, and purple onion. I think it was $12.95. It was not the biggest or most bountiful po boy I ever had so in that respect it was not like New Orleans' po boys. But the shrimp was battered just right and crispy without being over cooked. You get 4 medium-sized shrimp and they were enough to fill the sandwich. The fries were ok, actually a bit greasy to me, but edible. I probably won't eat my way through the menu, but the food was good enough to get me to come back and try something else.

Happy Mardi Gras y'all!! We stopped in for dinner on Fat Tuesday for dinner and drinks to celebrate, the atmosphere was lively and the restaurant had a really good crowd and everyone was having a good time. I ordered a hurricane cocktail and it was pretty good for the most part but the juice that they use was a bit thick and syrupy for my taste, it actually tasted a little better once the ice melted a bit and I gave it a good stir. They were not heavy-handed with the liquor, which is a good thing, because that can sometimes make a cocktail taste like medicine. Overall it was a decent hurricane and a good compliment to my meal. They did have crawfish but due to a paper cut on one hand and a snagged cuticle on the other, I opted for a safer choice and decided to get a fried seafood basket!! I got the catfish and oyster basket, it comes with hush puppies and I chose the onion rings as my side. Everything came out super hot and crispy, the restaurant was pretty busy so your food is not made until your order is placed and there is nothing like a piping hot meal. The breading on the catfish and oysters was crisped to perfection, well seasoned but my order was supposed to include four oysters and one of them was so tiny that I thought it was just some extra breading that had fallen off of something else. It was after I ate it, I then realized that was one of the oysters they actually counted as a complete piece after counting the remaining ones....boo! The hush puppies were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside just how I like them and the onion rings were golden and crunchy. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the items on their menu, especially now during Lent season.
